ABOUT THE PROJECT
About the Big Photo Premiere
The Big Photo Premiere project is the first and only non-commercial initiative on organising world-class museum exhibitions that aim to support modern Russian photography, as well as introduce the public to the art of both young and established authors. The Big Photo Premiere intends to hold exhibitions twice a year, in collaboration with top Russian museums which highlights the importance of the participants for the art world and the high status of the project. This also helps to form the image of modern Russian photography.
All the exhibitions will be available in 3D/VR format, while a designated web-portal will follow further career paths and photo projects of the Big Photo Premiere participants.
Chukotka. Epic saga. Introduction.
Trilogy
The project aims to create an image of modern Chukotka.
The first part titled «Introduction» features large-format photographs, presenting to the viewers the life of the indigenous peoples of the North and the nature of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
The authors have conceived Part II as the story about the hard, sometimes even heroic, way of life in Chukotka and the people whose work in the harsh conditions of the Far North is akin to a heroic deed.
The conclusion of the trilogy will showcase the unique businesses established in the region. They forge the economic potential of modern Chukotka.
The exhibition Chukotka. Epic saga. Introduction. marks the 90th anniversary of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug in December-January 2020/21. The project is supported by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug; the International Public Foundation "Russian Peace Foundation»; the Department of Mass Media and Advertising of the city of Moscow.
